Newnan first real test for Panthers

As sweet as the victory over Lithia Springs may have been last Friday night, it will be back to business Monday afternoon for the Chapel Hill Panthers.

The Panthers travel to Newnan to take on the top-rated Cougars who defeated LaGrange, 26-15 last Thursday to open their season.

Chapel Hill cruises past Lithia Springs, 46-0

The Chapel Hill Panthers scored early and scored often in the first half enroute to a 46-0 drumming of Lithia Springs in a non-region contest on Friday, August 28.

Touchdown runs by Mario Cannon, Derrick Parker, Trent White and Johnathan Parks through the first half paced the Panthers to victory.

In just a little over two days, the 2009 Chapel Hill football season officially gets underway when the Panthers host Lithia Springs in a non-Region 4-AAAAA contest.

By definition, a pre-season football scrimmage is a chance for coaching staffs to evaluate players, run some plays and figure out what needs to be fixed before the start of the regular season.

In Friday night’s scrimmage against Douglas County, the Panthers performed better after the intermission. The first half, they might want to either learn from or just forget.
