Chapel Hill will be looking for their first win of the season this Friday when they travel to Central Gwinnett. The Panthers are also hoping to avoid something that has never happened under the three-year watch of head coach Chris Parker. “We haven’t lost back-to-back games since I’ve been here,” Parker said at Tuesday’s practice. “It’s been nice when we’ve lost in the season we’ve been able to win the next week.” In order for the Panthers to do that, they will have to put last week’s 31-21 loss to East Coweta and stay focused on Central Gwinnett.
Georgia High School Football Daily's first composite state rankings show that there's only one unanimous No. 1 team in the state - Buford in Class AA. Below are the rankings from AJC/GHSF Daily (AJC), the Associated Press (AP), GaSports.com/coaches (GC) and MaxPreps (MP). In future weeks, we hope to add the Maxwell and Massey computer ratings. They currently aren't up to date. We also note that a score discrepancy might've influenced the AP and GaSports polls. It has been reported that Washington County defeated Jefferson County. Instead, it was a 21-21 tie.
